These terms are an agreement between you and Collectiva Technologies Limited (“Collectiva”, “we”, “us”) about the Collectiva Partner Program. By applying to the program you agree to them. Please read them before you apply.
The program lets you introduce cooperative societies to Collectiva and earn commission when the cooperatives you introduce become paying customers.
1. Joining the program
- Applying is free. There is no fee to join or to stay in the program.
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to receive payments into a Nigerian bank account in your own name.
- We review every application and usually reply within two working days. We may approve or decline an application at our discretion.
- Once approved, you get a partner account, your partner dashboard and our sales materials. Keep your sign-in details private; you are responsible for activity on your account.
2. What you do, and what you don’t
As a partner, you:
- Find cooperatives in your network and start conversations with their leadership.
- Submit each cooperative you introduce through your partner dashboard, with accurate details.
- Describe Collectiva honestly, using the information and materials we provide.
- Follow any rules set by your employer or professional body, including bank and MFB policies on referrals.
You must not:
- Sign contracts, agree prices or make promises on Collectiva’s behalf.
- Collect money, fees or deposits from a cooperative or its members for Collectiva.
- Make claims about Collectiva that we haven’t made, or offer discounts we haven’t approved.
- Send spam or unsolicited bulk messages, or use our name, logo or materials in a misleading way.
- Pressure a cooperative or its members, or offer them anything of value in exchange for signing up.
3. What Collectiva does
- Assigns a Collectiva representative to each cooperative you submit.
- Handles the product demonstration, pricing, the agreement with the cooperative, setup, record migration where applicable, and onboarding.
- Decides whether to offer Collectiva to a cooperative, and on what terms.
- Keeps your dashboard up to date with each cooperative’s progress and your commission.
4. Which cooperatives count as yours
- A cooperative counts as your introduction when you submit it through your partner dashboard first, and it isn’t already a Collectiva customer or already in active talks with us.
- If two partners submit the same cooperative, it counts for whoever submitted it first.
- We may decide that an introduction doesn’t count if the cooperative’s details are inaccurate, or if it was introduced in breach of these terms. We will tell you why.
5. Commission
- Commission is a share of the subscription fees Collectiva actually receives from a cooperative you introduced (“eligible revenue”). Eligible revenue excludes VAT, refunds and any fees we waive or credit back.
- First month: you earn 50% of the cooperative’s first month of eligible revenue.
- Every month after: you earn a recurring share of that cooperative’s eligible revenue for as long as it keeps paying, at the rate for your partner tier.
- Tiers depend on how many of your cooperatives are paying: Starter (1 to 5) 5%, Growth (6 to 15) 7.5%, Pro (16 to 30) 10%, Elite (31 or more) 12.5%. Your tier updates as that number changes.
- Commission follows paying cooperatives only. If a cooperative stops paying, pauses or leaves Collectiva, commission on it stops for as long as it isn’t paying.
- The earnings calculator on our website gives estimates only. Actual commission depends on what each cooperative pays.
6. Keeping recurring commission
- To keep earning recurring commission, introduce at least one new paying cooperative within every 12-month period.
- We send you reminders 90 days and 30 days before your deadline.
- If the deadline passes without a new paying cooperative, recurring commission stops until you introduce one. Commission already earned is still paid.
7. Payment
- Commission is worked out at the end of each month for the eligible revenue we received that month.
- It is paid in the first week of the following month, to the bank account in your name that you add in your partner account.
- Your dashboard shows each payout and the cooperatives it covers. If you think a payout is wrong, tell us within 60 days and we will check it.
- If we pay commission by mistake, or a cooperative’s payment is later refunded or reversed, we may take that amount off future payouts.
- You are responsible for your own taxes on commission. We may deduct tax where Nigerian law requires us to, and will show any deduction on your payout.
8. Being a partner, not an employee
- You take part in the program independently. You are not an employee, agent or representative of Collectiva, and you can’t bind us to anything.
- There is no minimum number of introductions and no exclusivity. Tell us if you work with a platform that competes with Collectiva.
9. Information and privacy
- Only share a cooperative’s or a person’s details with us when you have a fair reason to, such as their interest in Collectiva.
- Use what you learn about a cooperative only to introduce it to Collectiva, and keep it confidential.
- We handle your information and the information you submit under our privacy policy and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
10. Leaving the program
- You can leave at any time by telling us. Commission you have already earned up to that date will be paid on the normal schedule.
- We can suspend or end your participation if you breach these terms, act dishonestly, or put cooperatives or Collectiva at risk. If we end it for a serious breach, commission not yet paid may be withheld.
- We may change or close the program. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email, and commission earned before the change will still be paid.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will email you at least 30 days before a change takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will change. If you keep taking part after that, the new terms apply.
12. Responsibility
We provide the program and our materials as they are. To the extent the law allows, Collectiva is not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the commission paid to you in the 12 months before a claim.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We will try to settle any disagreement with you in good faith first; if we can’t, the courts of Lagos State will decide it.
